SOUP KITCHEN "KETCHUP"
We served 547 people between March and June. All four teams helped provide food supplies for these months. Gladys Sandera, Mary Sundblad, Joe & Heidi Fodo, Jane Hild, Dick Berry, Gene and Janet Wolff, Denny & Sherry Kniola, Char Gunn, and Sherry Hunt prepared and served the food at the Soup Kitchen.
We are able to get food to serve at the Soup Kitchen in different ways. We have four teams that rotate throughout the year to bring different food items each month. A yearly budget from missions also helps with food supplies. Often members make donations specifically for our Soup Kitchen's supplies. We also make use of Feeding America (formerly known as Southwest Gleaners) Feeding America enables us to purchase many supplies for about 16 cents a pound. Any donation made by individuals to Feeding America that designates Stevensville U.M.C. (account # 40242) enables us to purchase supplies, and the donation can be used as a deduction for their income taxes.
