Mothers Day Out Program – Information Sheet

The purpose of Mothers Day Out is to provide alone time for mothers of small children who are not yet able to attend school full time.

Children between the ages of 1 year to 4 years may be enrolled in the program.

Two adults will be attending to your children while you are away.  The program has been limited to fourteen openings on a first come first serve basis.  We will contact you to let you know if your child / children are among the first fourteen openings filled or if you have been placed on the waiting list. This year the cost for this program will be $120 per child.  In the past the cost has been less expensive because the church subsidized the balance.  This year the church is not in a financial situation in which it can subsidize the program.  No money is made or profited from this program.  We charge only the cost for the employees who watch your children, snack, drinks, etc.  It looks as though the program will run for 31 Mondays and the break down is 31 Mondays for $3.87 per child or $1.94 per hour each week.  A deposit of $25 per child is due when you sign up.  The remaining balance may be paid on the first day the program starts which will be September 19th, 2011.  This program is open to all church families as well as all families in our community.

Please send in your applications & deposit checks made out to SUMC to Nicole Tubman 3458 N M63, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.

Mothers Day Out will be every Monday beginning on September 19, 2011 from 9:00-11:00 am.  Please be sure to pick up your child promptly at 11:00 am. We will not be open during school and holiday closings.  A list of all Mondays the program will run will be available for pick up on September 19th.  In the event of a snow day we will follow the Lakeshore school closing list.  When Lakeshore schools are closed due to snow and bad weather, Mothers Day Out will also be closed.  There will not be an announcement on the news or radio, so please remember if school is closed than so in Mother’s Day Out.

To enter the church please uses the main entrance near the church office on the East side of the building.  All other entrances are locked during the day for security purposes due to the child care center located on church grounds.

Parents please make sure that your child / children’s belongings are all labeled.  If your child is still using a sippy cup than please make sure that you provide one for them and that it is labeled as well.  We will provide a snack and drink for your child / children while they are here.  If your child / children has a severe allergy please provide a safe snack for your child and make certain that the adult watchers are aware of the allergy and special snack.  Please pack a clean change of clothes for your child each week. Accidents of all kind happen more often than you would think.

Please do not bring your child to Mothers Day Out if they are running a fever, have vomited or had diarrhea in the last 24 hours.  If your child is just feeling run down and having an off day it is better to keep them home with you.  We can not help with potty training your child.  If your child is in the beginning process of potty training and needs to be taken to the bathroom on a schedule please keep them at home with you.  It is best that they be in an environment they are comfortable with while potty training.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact the church at 429-5911 or Nicole Tubman at 363-4454.
